Today, I've put a twist on Katina's Kiss CAS from yesterday's 14 Days of Love #7.

Use a Blushing Bride A2 card base.
Cut your background DSP 4 x 5-1/4

Cut a frame and a full mat from Blushing Bride using frame #1 and #2. You can position both in place to cut the frame or choose to cut the mat from #1 then center #2 die in place and run it through your diecutting machine again.

Cut a #1 mat from Whisper White.

TO ASSEMBLE A BASIC SHAKER BOX:
Stamp the floral heart image with Blushing Bride in the center of the white mat. Then layer your shaker box.

With your open frame FACE DOWN on your work surface, apply Snail Adhesive (104332 - $7.00) around the perimeter of the frame. You can also use Tear & Tape.

Cut a piece of acetate a smidge smaller (1/16th of an inch) than your mat and place it on top of the mat. Cut strips of Foam Adhesive Strips (141825 - $8.00) and adhere them around the edge of the acetate base to form a frame. IMPORTANT: Make sure everything butts up against each other at the corners. You need a tight seal so you don't lose any of the goodies we're going to add.

TIP!
With the paper backing still in place on the foam strip, us a fine paint brush, brush the inside edges of the foam strips. This will cover any tackiness from the inside so that your goodies don't stick.

Next, add in sparkly, bling, beads, confetti. I chose some blush-toned micro beads, tiny pink heart and red lip confetti from my stash. BONUS! The Red Heart Lips will be included in my January Promo!

At this point, I recommend cutting a piece of cardstock a tad smaller than your opening and place it on top BEFORE removing the adhesive backing. Static cling will have some of your micro beads jumping up onto the adhesive and may prevent your backing from making a good seal.

Once all the adhesive backing is off, remove your paper card from the box and add the solid Blushing Bride mat.

Cut a grill-work heart from Real Red.
Cut a Whisper White mat - 3/4" x 2-1/2"
Stamp your sentiment and place the two items in the bottom right corner of the card.

Please show us your cards by leaving a link in the comments. And we're happy to Pin them for you!

Today's card was inspired by Katina Martinez on YouTube. I fell in love with her Simple Sealed With A Kiss Card.

Rather than use an embossing folder on the Whisper White A2 base, I chose to do an all-over stamp background with the Lips from the Sealed With Love stamp set. I used blushing bride and Ghost Stamping, by stamping the image first on scratch paper then onto the background.

For the mats, I cut 1 each from Whisper White and from Blushing Bride using the Stitched Framelits dies (these are back in stock in case you missed them last fall)

Counting from the larger frame out, I used #2 in Blushing Bride and #3 in Whisper White.

Ghost stamp a lip in Blushing Bride in the bottom right corner of the white mat. then stamp over top, centering the Sealed with a Kiss sentiment in Real Red.

Diecut 2 arrows from Real Red. See the diagram below for clipping the arrow sections and positioning on the Blushing Bride mat. I used the Multi-Purpose glue to put them in place:

Center/ glue the white mat in place. Then use dimensionals to pop the completed mat off the card.

Use 3 Real Red Enamel Hearts in the bottom right corner

I loved the alternate placement of the heart chain die. I CASed the design from Linda Bedinger.

With a piece of Whisper White cut 4 x 5-1/4... place the mat on your cutting pad, positioning the heart chain die as show below:

I've used a couple of pieces of washi tape to keep the die in place. Keep in mind, you want the open part of your heart going towards what will be the top/ top-right of your card.

Next, cut 2 of the larger framed heart (like we used on yesterday's Card #5) from Real Red. Except this time you will leave them intact.

Assemble your card as shown in the completed picture above, leaving a scant 1/8" breath of space where your heart chain border has been cut. Using your fingers, pop up the hearts in the chain slightly.

My new FAVORITE glue is the Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue from Stampin Up:
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
110755 - $4.00
The fine tip is perfect for going around the heart frame of the two framed hearts, leaving the inner heart floating free.

Stamp your sentiment in the bottom using Real Red ink.

This card did come from a sketch but I failed to make the notation on my design sheet and can not find it on my sketch Pinterest board. Hmm.. If this sketch is familiar to you, please let me know so that I may give credit where credit is due. Thanks!

I chose a Whisper White A2 base so that the colors would pop.
You will need:

Designer Series Paper - 4-14/ x 1-1/2
Soft Sky - 4-1/4 x 1

Real Red and Whisper White scraps to die cut from.

From Real Red:
Die-cut 1 grill-work heart and 2 small hearts

From Whisper White:
Die-cut 1 intricate heart:

Using Soft Sky, stamp the floral heart image. Then with your scissors, cut the 2 sections apart at the apex and point of the heart so you have two pieces that look like this:

To assemble the card:

Drop down 1" from the top of your card and adhere the DSP strip. Then overlapping just a smidge, adhere the soft sky strip. Place the hearts as shown.

Before adhering the stamped heart at the bottom.. use the 'paint smear' stamp and Soft Sky ink, stamp in the bottom right corner. Then use Real Red ink to stamp your sentiment over top. Use 2 foam dimensionals to pop up the stamped heart.

CHRISTMAS IN JANUARY

I will be featuring a Christmas Card on the 25th of each month. So this is Christmas in January

While we were offered so many beautiful sets in the Holiday 2016 catalog, there are some real keepers in the Annual catalog. For this week, I inked up my Flurry of Wishes for the first time.

A2 Card Base
Soft Sky Mats in 5.25 x 3.75 / 4 x 2.25 / 2.5 x 1.75
Whisper White in 5 x 3.75 / 4 x 2.25 / 2.25 x 1.5

I used Soft Sky and a Triple Stamp technique for the all-over background on the white mats,
For the Sentiment mat, I ghost stamped the snowflakes so they are nothing more than a whisper behind the sentiment.

I'm hoping to spend some time on the weekend making at least four more of these. I need to average 6-10 cards per month to have the needed quantity for mailing Black Friday weekend.

Show me your Christmas cards. Remember, a couple every month will provide you with several when the time comes.

Creative Blessings
~Kelly

Lots of Banners

I was inspired by this sketch from Studio Calico:

Each banner is cut from a 1 x 1-1/4 piece of scraps from the Designer Series Paper - You will need 9

Unless you have a banner die that will fit, I always have a challenge finding that center point to cut into. This is where your grid paper pad comes in handy.

Square up your rectangle piece - aligning the bottom edge with one of the horizontal lines on your grid paper and centering on the darker center line. From this point, count up from the bottom to the third line (counting your bottom line as #1) then with your needle tool, pierce a small hole at that line in coordination with the darker vertical line. With your scissors, cut up to that hole from your bottom left and right corners. Perfect banner every time!

For this card I used:
Whisper White Base - A2 (4.25 x 5.5)

The sentiment mat:
Real Red - 4 x 3/4
Whisper White - 3-1/4 x 1/2

The banner points for the red mat are made the same as for the larger banners.

I chose the Love You Lots sentiment. Again, using your grid paper, find your center and stamp the sentiment in the middle first. Then stamp the sentiment again to the right and the left.

Tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com

I used a Whisper White A2 card base (4.25x5.5)

Die cut three hearts from Real Red.
You may choose to embellish these with glaze, tone on tone stamping or Wink Of Stella for a bit of sparkle. I chose a tone-on-tone with one of the heart stamps from the Sealed With Love stamp set.

For the mats:

Real Red -  5x 2-1/4
Designer Series Paper - 2 x 4-3/4

Falling Hearts

I was inspired by this sketch from Studio Calico:

with the exception that I chose to put my sentiment on the bottom left for balance.

I used the heart die from the framelits die set to cut 11 hearts from the Real Red. I stamped over five of them with one of the heart stamps for a bit of subtle, tone-on-tone dimension.

The Whisper White 4x5.25" mat was placed on the Real Red A2 card base before I began placing the hearts and the sentiment banner. I wanted the one heart to be off the mat but not past the card base so the card would still fit nicely in the envelope. I also wanted the sentiment banner to be even with the fold.

For the Sentiment Base:
Real Red 3x3/4

Banner notch one end.
The white mat is cut 2-1/2x 1/2"

14 DAYS OF LOVE - #1

Welcome to my first series, 14 Days of Love! For this series, I will be using the following:

Here's Card #1:

Card Dimensions: 4.25x5.5 (A2)

Whisper White Card Base.
Fold the card closed
From the right side of the card front, cut off 1"
Open the card back up and position the heart die from the framelits set:

Note: The red card stock is in place right now to show the contrast of the edge.
Placing the die as it is show in the picture is very important.
Ask me how I know? LOL

I found it easier to keep the die in place if I placed a couple of pieces of washi on the framelit edge and adhering to the die cutting plate (yes I have a magnetic platform but this will help keep the paper in place without the chance of tearing your card base when you remove the tape.

Once you have the edge of the card from die-cut, use your fingers to gently pop up the hearts.

Cut a piece of Real Red cardstrock 4.25x5.5
adhere to the inside back of your front cover.

NOTE:
As an alternative... you could choose not to trim off the 1" from the card front or add the red.
Die cut the original edge of your card front - giving you an all white card.

FOR THE ENVELOPE MAT

Cut a square of Real Red - 2.25" square
Cut a square of Designer Series Paper from the Sending Love DSP paper pack - 2" square
I chose the heart chain pattern to coordinate with the framelit border running 'down' the right side of the card and the heart chain on the note card.
Adhere these two together.

From Soft Sky, cut the Envelope from the framelits set
From Whisper White, cut the scallop notecard.
The framelits die creates your score lines. Fold the envelope on the score lines
I added a red heart using a punch from my stash.

Using the mini heart chain from the stamp set, stamp them at the top of the notecard
COOL FEATURE:
The heart chain is spaced perfectly to line up with the scallop edge of the notecard!

I never saw the point of using the grid paper pad
130148 - $11.00
But I'm finding the grid paper useful for lining up my stamp on the acrylic block so that I know the stamp is straight before stamping onto  my cardstock
(also great for adding a curvature to your photopolymer stamp)

Stamp 'a teeny tiny note' in Real Red on the notecard and tuck into the envelope just enough to secure. You can add a glue dot to the back if you would like.
Then glue the envelope at an angle to the mat.
Come down 1/2" from the top and adhere the completed mat.

Using Real Red, stamp Sending Love in the bottom right - lining up with the bottom heart.

Reminder of Finished Valentine

PAPER PUMPKIN - January - As Is & Twist

My box did not arrive until yesterday so I'm showing you the As Is and the With A Twist both today!
Why?

Because beginning tomorrow, I have my first card series - 14 Days of Love!
Here we go..

First off, here is what you can make with the January Paper Pumpkin Kit:

This are absolutely perfect for my grandaughters. I've dropped a couple of Dove chocolate hearts in each bag.

As you'll see in the video from Stampin' Up! below, the wooden sticks come to a point on one end. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I wasn't comfortable with sending a pointed stick to my girls. I snipped the point off each of the sticks with a pair of wire cutters before assembling them.
I also chose not to put the gold thread on these - because I was crunching for time if they were going up today! LOL

The box comes with a Calypso Coral ink spot. But when I looked at the velum banner, I saw Blushing Bride.  I used Melon Mambo to stamp Adrian's and Blushing Bride for Abigail's.

Here's the video from Stampin' Up!

I also found it difficult, because of the lighting over my table that I'm still trying to perfect, that I couldn't get the heart images centered on the heart die-cut. So I inked up the stamp, then placed the die-cut on the stamp to imprint the image:

Now for the Twist:

I knew I wanted to make a card using the banners. But it wasn't until I watched a video by
SuNN Stampin' that I learned a trick...

By burnishing the backside of the box die-cut, you can smooth out the score marks and have a solid piece of DSP to use as a mat! Also check out her video at about 6:22 to see how she uses the die-cut hearts to create a creative background.
Now... with that background in mind, did you know that you can put those on a card, place another mat on top and run through your Big Shot to get an embossing folder effect? (That's my tip!)

I used the Curly Label punch and Blushing Bride cardstock to create the sentiment mat. Then I used a piece of Whisper White and the same punch to create the top layer. I will be showing this technique on one of the 14 Days of Love series cards so stay tuned!

TIP!
When adhering the velum banner... place your glue dots on the pink stripe and they won't show through on the front!
