PAPER PUMPKIN - May - As Is and Twist

I apologize for not getting the As Is posted yesterday. My day job task took longer than I'd anticipated. So today I am posting both.

I loved this kit. Seriously, who doesn't LOVE donuts! And what a great way to send a calorie-FREE sweet message to someone?

Here are the As Is that I played with:

Sprinkled with Love

Flower Happy

I used the reinkers and my water brush to color in the flowers from the kit.
I put a drop in the pallet the squirted some water from my brush until I got a shade I liked.
TIP: Stamp your center of the flower first.
I chose to brush from the outside edge of the petals towards the center
giving a more pronounced edge
I used Pool Party, only to discover it was a bit more aqua than I wanted.

With A Twist:
I knew I wanted to take a bite out of this frosted donut. I don't have our scalloped edge circles yet so I used my punch from The Paper Studio to take give the bite marks. I hope the person getting this card doesn't mind. ;-)

I trimmed one of the deli bags (included in the kit) down to a 4 x 5.25 leaving the decorative edge in place then mounted it on a Watermelon Wonder card base.

For the second twist, I cut out a slightly larger circle from Blushing Bride to mount the Very Vanilla icing on. Then topped that with the icing drizzle from the kit. These stickers were so much fun! And added a realism to the card. I might need to order an extra kit just to have these to play with.

I cut the donut down a bit as well as the deli bag front so it appears as if the donut is coming out of the bag. To position the flower just right see the photo below:

I cut a small triangle of dimensional and placed it on the banner where I wanted to position the flower. This allowed me to position the flower just right without covering up too much of the sentiment.

Good morning, Everyone!

I apologize for the inactivity the past couple of weeks. A week ago today I was recovering from a horrid virus that hit five days prior. The only thing was a very high fever that refused to give up. The fever would no sooner break than it was back. This went on for almost four solid days. I couldn't even get excited when in one of my awake moments Bob informed me I had happy mail. I've only been this sick one other time in my life.

I felt more myself on Tuesday morning, as Bob left for his first trip out in 49 days. I spent last week trying to find some semblance of order to a disaster otherwise known as the house and now I'm finally back in the craft room.

So today, I'm introducing you to the May Paper Pumpkin kit. Tomorrow I'll show you my own followed by Twist on Wednesday.

Thursday is THE BIG DAY! Our 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will be open for business. After being with SU for a full year, I'm really excited to have a better footing with this catalog than I did last to show you.

One advantage of being a Paper Pumpkin subscriber is that I've already sent catalogs to those folks as well as my other customers. If you'd like to have a catalog, please leave me a note using  the contact form and I'll be happy to pop one in the mail to you.

Friday, I'll also be introducing my first IN-COLOR club. This is the perfect opportunity for you to get the NEW 2017 In-Color without hurting your crafting budget. So make sure you come back to get the details!

THANK YOU - Eastern Palace Suite!

Taking a moment this morning to finally share a sample from the Eastern Palace Suite. I used this for the Color Challenge over on my creative blog...

Aside from Berry Burst and Fresh Fig, Cherry Cobbler also works well with the color palette.  I used Soft Sky, Tranquil Tide, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

This is also a Thank You card to a lady for an unexpected order.

IN COLOR 2017-2019

These are yummy colors! I love them all.. and wait til you see what we pair them with!

From left to right:
Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist
You'll notice a reinker missing from the photo.
UPS lost it out of one of the two openings in the box :-(
But SU is coming through and my replacement should be here next week!

For the first time ever, I bought the coordinating ribbon. Now I want to get the ribbon for the 2016-2018 colors too!

One IMPORTANT NOTE about the new In-Colors

I will be offering an In-Color Club beginning June 1
Flyers will be going out to all of my customers in their Catalog packets on Monday and will post here Memorial Day weekend.
Stay Tuned
to see how you can have all the new colors to play with.

One more thing about the new In-Colors

Remember the blue Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper in the soon-to-be retired catalog?
It's here with a FRESH NEW LOOK (and some pattern changes)!

FRESH FLORALS is now our new Designer Series Paper to match the
2017-2019 In-Colors. They are gorgeous!
I can't wait to show you what I'll be doing with these.
I CAN tell you... these papers are a big feature in the
BONUS items you'll receive when you join the
In-Color Club

I have more paper to show you but
Next up:

FIVE new stamp sets!
Thanks to you, I earned the bottom 3 sets from sales and recruiting!

Oh, you want to see what they look like?

Beautiful sentiments in mixed fonts to make the key words really pop!
I will be tying this set into the In-Color Club card tutorials.

Soooo pretty and versatile

This is a photopolymer set.
You can manipulate the curved images straight or the straight images into a bit of a curve!
Do you see the shorthand symbol?

We have a Selection of items we can pre-order ... not the entire catalog.

The next two were my first picks from the Pre-Order.

I see great cards for crafting friends as well as Mixed Media projects with

I saved this set for last because I have a Designer Series Paper collection to go with it.

DAISY DELIGHT has a coordinating punch.
I recently visited another dem's blog that used the big petal daisy.
Rivaled anything Prima has come out with. So looking forward to playing with this one.

DSP Alert!

w/ coordinating cardstock pack

The DSP pairs well with:

I love this in the Berry Burst. A HAPPY color.

Did I say BLING!
(shown here next to the clear Glitter Enamel Dots)

I know I've not shown you the Eastern Palace Suite yet. It's still on my work table - though a bit buried. I'll unearth that today and hopefully get something posted before rain moves in. Storms/ rain are on their way beginning this afternoon through early Saturday.

If you are not one of my regular customers and would like a catalog, request one using the CONTACT FORM on my sidebar. I'd love to Inspire you!

Creative Blessings!

Sorry I don't have a card this week. I've been a bit preoccupied with getting better organized. For those of you who do not know, I am horribly OCD. I can NOT even think about creating in chaos and my studio is that this week. We ripped out one of my storage units and hubby built a new one to my specs. Of course, this means all of my boxes of stamps are piled on the sofa here in the studio and on a conference table. Until about an hour ago, all of my cardstock and designer series paper was sitting on the floor.

Here's what that part of the studio looked like before we started:

Aside from stamp sets in the photo boxes (both in the cabinet and on the floor), there were loose ones in the shallow drawers on the right. The bottom three drawers are all non- SU fibers. The drawers on the left housed embossing powders and washi tape.

I knew this was not going to work any longer. I needed my most- used coardstock and DSP up higher. This body and getting down on the hands and knees just do not play nice any more. So I got everything drawn up and my handy dandy husband went to work.

Bob made the interlocking unit from shelf boards purchased at Menards.

Here is the completed unit ready for me to fill it up! And with so many yummy new DSPs coming June 1, that won't be hard. I can't tell you anything more than I think this is the largest DSP collection in a single Annual Catalog I've ever seen. When time slows down, I might have to get out my back catalogs and check that statistic out.

The top three and bottom two rows of cubbies are 15" deep and 15" high. They'll accommodate The Paper Studio paper keepers that I keep all of my papers in. I also use the 1" wide paper keepers to hold 'slabs' or 'stacks' of DSP such as DCWV.  I'll be showing more of my organization in the coming weeks but I thought since this is what I've been busy creating, I'd give you a peek into my studio.

If UPS cooperates, tomorrow I'll have my pre-order preview post so stop back by to see what I'll be playing with first!

BUNDLE ALERT!! - Eastern Palace Suite Available NOW!

Beginning TODAY May 1, 2017 - May 31 you can order the EASTERN PALACE SUITE in one of two Bundle Packages!

I apologize for not getting this flyer printed and in the mail to you. We got reports of nasty storms moving in and chose to get into the city ahead of them... leaving a day earlier than we'd planned. And now we're in the city a day later than we'd expected. When it rains, it pours.. .literally!

Ordering these bundles allow you to not only get everything you need to begin creating RIGHT AWAY but also a FREEBIE or two - depending on which bundle you choose.

Individual parts of the bundles will NOT be available for order until the new catalog releases June 1.

Here is the HOSTESS CODE: QNAQT9HU which will give you an additional FREE GIFT from me when you place your order using the hostess code.

Keep in mind, Orders with Hostess Codes can be kept open for 30 days. BUT... and this is a big one... I am ONLY keeping this order open for ONE WEEK so you can get your product and start to play ASAP.

You are welcome to order either of these bundles at any time during the month as you have placed orders in the past. But to get the additional Freebie from me, you need to place your order - using the Hostess Code by 5 p.m. CST Saturday May 6th.

I will check in with you on Tuesday. Sadly, until I know what our situation is at the house with all the flooding, I'm pretty sure there won't be any creating done until later in the week.

However, Saturday is NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY! and I hope to be scrapping the day away! Watch for posts from me throughout the day. If nothing else, I'll have my FB page up and ready to visit with you all.

Creative Blessings!
